DUBAI — Fifth seed Viktor Troicki of Serbia and Montenegro ousted the top seeded Lars Uebel of Germany 7-5, 6-0 for a semi berth in the men‘s category of the ITF Dubai Aviation Cup Futures tennis tournament here yesterday.

Dubai: The top seeds at the ITF Aviation Cup Futures tournament ran into contrasting forms at the quarterfinal stage of the contest yesterday.

Dubai: Top seed Lars Uebel got the better of Marco Chiudinelli for the second time in as many weeks to power his way into the quarterfinals of the men's competition at the ITF Dubai Aviation Cup last night.

Uebel, who had defeated Chiudinelli in an entertaining three sets last week at the Abu Dhabi Futures, was more systematic this week with a 6-3, 6-3 win against his Swiss opponent.

DUBAI — Four seeded players crashed out in the second round matches of the ITF Dubai Aviation Cup Futures tennis tournament at the Aviation Club tennis courts yesterday.

The seeds who fell were second seeded Gary Lugassy of France, Germany’s Simon Stadler (3rd seed), Victor Bruthans of Slovakia (4th seed) and Sebastian Rieschick (Germany), seeded sixth.
